Delmarva-based architectural and engineering firm George, Miles & Buhr, LLC (GMB) congratulates staff member Deane Townsend, AIA on recently passing the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) 5.0 and earning his Registered Architect (R.A.) license in the State of Maryland.

The ARE 5.0 is a rigorous 6-part exam that covers a broad range of architectural subjects. Having completed the ARE’s and becoming licensed, Townsend is really looking forward to devoting more time to pursuing new and innovative projects.

He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He formerly served the local youth as a mentor with the ACE Mentor Program of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the Boy Scouts of America.

Townsend’s recent work includes the design of the new Federalsburg Health Center, which is currently under construction in Caroline County, Maryland and is on schedule for December completion. He is also involved in the design of several local municipal projects, including a new Town Hall, Police Department, and EMS building for the Town of Dewey Beach, Delaware and renovations to the Ocean City Lifesaving Museum for the Town of Ocean City, Maryland.

GMB is proud of its staff’s professional development and congratulates Townsend for achieving this career milestone.
