Salisbury, MD — The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce was excited to join on August 25 Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County to celebrate a ribbon cutting for the organization’s newly renovated ReStore located at 908 W. Isabella Street in Salisbury.
Executive Director Molly Hilligoss welcomed guests and thanked the many individuals, businesses, volunteers, donors, and board members whose support helped make the renovation project possible.
“Thanks to the amazing financing we received from Hebron Savings Bank, we were able to invest $250,000 in this building. We replaced three garage doors with huge glass panels, added air conditioning and heating, and the exterior’s painting was thanks to We Are Limitless Studios. If it wasn’t for the favorable pricing, our board, donors, and all of you shoppers, this would not have been possible.” Shared Hilligoss
Hilligoss also shared that ReStore sales go completely back into the community, which allowed them to hit two milestone records in the last 14 months; the sale of seven homes and serving 42 new families with critical home repairs. The ReStore offers an ever-changing inventory of donated furniture, appliances, home décor, building materials, and other household items at affordable prices. Shoppers ranging from homeowners and contractors to DIY enthusiasts and treasure hunters can find unique bargains while supporting a meaningful cause.
Since 1997, Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County has worked to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities for local families. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Habitat welcomes volunteers, donors, and community partners from all backgrounds to help further its mission of strengthening neighborhoods through housing initiatives.
During the event, attendees toured the updated facility, enjoyed special storewide discounts off select merchandise, and participated in prize drawings for ReStore gift cards. Chamber member Playa Bowls helped enhance the celebration by providing complimentary mango and acai bowls for guests to enjoy while they networked and shopped.
