Hope and Live Outreach (HALO) Ministry has been recognized by Delmarva Power for their sustainability
efforts throughout the past decade. HALO has completed numerous energy-efficient upgrades and
received more than $135,000 in incentives from Delmarva Power’s Energy Savings for Business Program.
HALO completed their first energy efficiency upgrade nearly 10 years ago when they converted the
lighting throughout their facilities to more efficient LED models. Since then, they have updated their
kitchen equipment, installed new hot water heaters, and upgraded a total of 314 lighting fixtures to
LEDs. This has led to saving more than 244,029 kWh of energy so far.
“The Center of Hope is our main facility, and it operates 24/7. That requires a lot of power for lights,
refrigeration, and HVAC,” said founder, CEO, and executive director Celeste Savage. “Every dollar saved
on electricity means more money to better serve HALO’s guests.”
Since 2007, HALO Ministry has been helping to serve the homeless community in the Salisbury, Md.
area. Doing everything from serving meals on the street to running a women and children’s shelter,
HALO provides a much-needed hand up to their community and those they serve. If you would like to
