The Caregiver Resource Center at MAC Inc., Area Agency on Aging, is offering free training sessions in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties to certify volunteers as I-CAN Ambassadors. The purpose of the I-CAN program is to train volunteer caregiver ambassadors who in turn prepare caregivers to find their way through health and social service systems. Ambassadors are helping caregivers find quality care, balance their responsibilities and develop plans with experts to manage care for loved ones.  Training sessions take up two full days. All materials and lunch/snacks are provided along with a certificate.  We want YOU to be an I-CAN Ambassador if you have some computer/internet skills, are experienced in social work, healthcare, education, spiritual leadership or other people helping professions. Training dates/locations are: 5/29-30 Cambridge, 6/2-3 Westover, 6/5-6 Snow Hill, 6/23-24 Salisbury and 6/26-27 Ocean Pines. Check out the Caregiver Resource Center’s internet calendar for more information at http://maccaregivers.org.
