Joseph E. Morse: Long Time publisher of African American Pride

Joseph E. Morse, a tireless advocate for the African-American community on the Delmarva Peninsula, passed away on November 1st, 2024. Born on November 16, 1940, in Tuskegee, Alabama, Morse dedicated his life to uplifting others and promoting social justice.

Educated at Howard University, Morse earned a Master’s degree in Construction Management Technology and a Law Degree. These academic pursuits, coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit, fueled his passion for community service. He worked at Shore-Up, Incorporated, before founding the Delmarva African-American Pride magazine in 2001.

This groundbreaking publication became a cornerstone of the African-American community on the Eastern Shore. Through its pages, Morse highlighted the achievements, challenges, and aspirations of Black individuals and businesses. The magazine was a beacon of hope, providing a platform for positive representation and inspiring countless readers.
