Snow Hill, MD — The Julia A. Purnell Museum has received a $1,350 grant from the Beach to Bay Heritage Area to support marketing and outreach for the museum’s upcoming Fiber Fest.
The funding will help cover print marketing and advertising for the festival, as well as a pop-up tent and reusable table cover that can be used during Fiber Fest and future museum outreach events.
Fiber Fest will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sturgis Park Garden, 200 River St., Snow Hill. The family-friendly event celebrates the living traditions of fiber arts through handmade crafts, artisan demonstrations, local food, and community activities.
The museum will provide the required match for the grant through in-kind volunteer time during Fiber Fest and related outreach efforts.
“This grant will help us reach more residents and visitors while strengthening the museum’s presence at community events,” Julia A. Purnell Museum Executive Director Tina Busko said. “We are grateful to the Beach to Bay Heritage Area for supporting programs that celebrate local history, heritage, and hands-on traditions.”
The Julia A. Purnell Museum, located at 208 W. Market St. in Snow Hill, shares the history of Snow Hill and Worcester County through exhibits, collections, and programs that connect visitors with the area’s cultural heritage.
