FREE Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation Workshops
June 6
Beginning at 9 a.m.
The Maryland DLLR will be offering free workshops to ensure employers and employees stay informed on laws and regulations covering employment standards (payroll, HR, retail, restaurants), prevailing wage (construction and landscaping), worker classification (construction and landscaping) and an overview of occupational safety and health in any industry (safety managers, HR). The event will be held June 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce in the Perdue Room. The schedule is as follows:
Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) overview (9-10 a.m.)
Employment standards presentation (10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
Prevailing wage and Worker Classification (1:30-3:30 p.m.)

Nations Lending Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

General Membership Luncheon with Professor Shad Ewart: The Cannabis Industry in MD

The June General Membership Luncheon will feature speaker Professor Shad Ewart of Anne Arundel Community College, discussing the cannabis industry in Maryland.
During his presentation, Ewart plans to elaborate on job creation in the Maryland cannabis supply chain, economic development and job opportunities in the ancillary business of the industry, as well as what the future hold may hold including challenges and adult and recreational use.
Tickets for the luncheon are $25 for Chamber members and $35 for future members. They can be purchased online at salisburyarea.com or by contacting Director of Events Lauren Barnas at 410-749-0144. The luncheon will take place at La Quinta Inn and Suites.
