Salisbury, MD — Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore hosted JA Inspire, an interactive career exploration event for 8th graders designed to connect students with local businesses and future career opportunities, on March 11–12, 2026 at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, MD.
JA Inspire brought together local employers and students from 10 counties across the Eastern Shore in hopes of igniting the early spark for their future careers.
Students from as far as Kent Co. Maryland and Northampton, Virginia traveled to participate in JA Inspire. Over two days, students explored a variety of industries and engage directly with local professionals. During the event, students dove into immersive, hands-on activities, gaining practical experience with industry tools and equipment from different career categories. The experience was designed to help students better understand the wide range of career paths available to them and the skills needed to succeed.
“JA Inspire provides a powerful opportunity for students to see firsthand what their future could look like,” said Interim President Erin Williamson. “By connecting students with real businesses and professionals from their own community, we help them begin thinking about the skills, education, and opportunities that can shape their careers.”
