Berlin, MD— Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JAES) raised $45,640 at its 35th Annual Golf Tournament last Thursday. Held at the GlenRiddle Golf Club in Berlin, Maryland, BBSI – Salisbury presented the event.
Sold out at 140 golfers, the tournament was the organization’s largest in 35 years. Over 30 businesses from Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Wicomico, and Worcester counties attended the event.
“Each year the commitment of our community multiples,” said JAES President, Jayme Hayes. “Their support moves the mission. They’re showing students success on the shore, and in life, is possible.”
This school year, the organization doubled its student numbers and expanded its service area. The expansion reflects the 35% increase in program demand from the school districts.
Proceeds from the event will give students access to JAES programs, for free. The organization’s programs teach students, K-12, how to manage their money, get jobs, and be the CEO.

About Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore
Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JAES) is a non-profit organization educating youth, grades K-12, on financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship. We are dedicated to providing possibility and powering potential for students in 6 counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the newly added Accomack County, on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. As the liaisons between business and education, we immerse ourselves in local business industries, identify the needs of the marketplace, and develop an innovative, needs-based curriculum that is brought to life, in the classroom, by community volunteers. We teach concepts that equip and inspire our students to understand and manage their finances, to live within their means, to identify fulfilling career pathways, to prepare for the “new norm” of work, and to explore entrepreneurial thinking. Our interactive, hands-on approach and our fun and engaging curriculum help students connect what they’re learning in school to real-life experiences. With the help of our community of Game Changers, our programs are provided to our schools at no cost to ensure all students, no matter where they find themselves in life, have access to JA’s vital programming. At JA, we believe in a world where every child’s story ends in success.
