The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce was delighted to welcome to its membership Meditate & Thrive Kriya Yoga Center with an official ribbon cutting held on January 24, 2023.
Meditate & Thrive Kriya Yoga Center exists to share the life-transforming teachings of Kriya Yoga. This integrated spiritual path brings together the most effective elements of all systems of yoga. Founder and Spiritual Director Acharya Priya Friday-Pabros, MDiv., discovered Kriya Yoga when she was 19. Priya moved to California, where she found her guiding teacher, Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brien, Founder and Spiritual Director of the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment.
Priya earned a Master of Divinity Degree from the Meru Institute at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, focusing on Music Ministry. Ordained in 2005, she is a Senior Kriya Yoga Teacher and Associate Minister with the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, where she continues to study with her teacher.
In April 2021, after researching the perfect location in the Mid-Atlantic, Priya and her wife Francisca decided to move to Delmar, DE, and opened Meditate & Thrive to share their knowledge on Kriya Yoga.
Priya welcomed 30+ guests to the Center and shared her spiritual journey and the importance of taking time out of our busy schedules to care for our bodies, mind, and soul.
“Meditation has made a big difference in my life, and this space here supports wellness for everyone. We are a meditation center and spiritual practice community, offering ways for people to chill in our tense social climate. We all have a lot going on, but there is a way to balance and reset our minds through meditation. Meditation is for people of all faiths or no faiths. If we check in with ourselves regularly, we will find what changes we need to make to achieve this inner peace.”
Meditate and Thrive Kriya Yoga Center provides spiritual tools to manifest self-wisdom and compassion. Their vision supports profound realizations of the essential self to live a healthy, purposeful, and conscious life. Services include meditation instruction, Vedic counseling, retreats, and spiritual study for people at all levels and diverse backgrounds.
Priya invited guests to join her on a mini meditation demonstration that immediately put everyone in a relaxing mood. Chamber member Roadie Joe’s provided a delicious vegetarian meal, and Brian Nelson and Joe Bean won, respectively, a $25 gift certificate to the center shop and a private Kriya Yoga class for four people.
