The kick-off party for the Kicks for Kids fundraiser will take place at The Brick Room at 116 Division St. in downtown Salisbury on Tuesday, June 9 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Kicks for Kids is a new kickball tournament and fundraising event to benefit Coastal Kids Supportive Care, the pediatric program of Coastal Hospice, that will take place on July 11 in Salisbury.

The June 9 kick-off party is an opportunity for teams to sign up for the tournament while enjoying a night out at one of Salisbury’s best new venues. Guest bartenders for the evening include Sophia Smecker of the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce, Jenna Bowne and Kathleen Abercrombie.  Ben Bowne will provide live music. Happy hour prices will be offered for the first hour.

The July 11 kickball tournament will be a competition of teams of 10-12 adult players with a registration cost of $300 per team. Companies, clubs and neighborhoods are encouraged to form teams.

Prizes will be awarded for the winning team and best team T-shirt. The July 11 tournament, which will be held at the SSSC Sports Complex on Goddard Parkway in Salisbury, will feature activities for the whole family, food trucks and a lemonade stand.

The event will benefit Coastal Kids Supportive Care, the pediatric support program of Coastal Hospice. Coastal Kids offers specialized medical attention for children with serious illness, providing comprehensive treatment for the relief of discomfort, symptoms and stress. The goal of care is to improve the quality of life for both the child and the family.
