The Kim and Evans Family Foundation and the Delmarva Shorebirds are excited to announce the Ryan Minor Memorial Golf Classic scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the extraordinary Links at Lighthouse Sound in Bishopville, Maryland. Money raised will support the Ryan Minor Memorial Fund, which will help local special-needs children.

Participants will enjoy 18-holes of golf, delicious food and snacks, chances to win prizes, and the opportunity to support an amazing cause. Registration will start at 8:30 am with a shotgun start at 10:00 am.

Ryan Minor was a professional baseball player who played for the Baltimore Orioles and Montreal Expos. After his playing career, Ryan transitioned into coaching, where he became a respected Minor League coach and manager. Ryan was instrumental in the success of the Delmarva Shorebirds, leading them to their first-ever South Atlantic League Championship in 1997. He later returned to the organization as a coach and eventually a manager. His #44 jersey was the first number retired in Shorebirds team history. Ryan passed away in 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving a profound void in the baseball community and in the hearts of those who knew him.

Ryan’s legacy is one of mentorship, leadership, and, more importantly, determination, courage, and strength. He was incredibly passionate about sports as well as special-needs children’s causes. The Ryan Minor Memorial Fund was established to better the lives of special-needs children on Delmarva.

The Kim and Evans Family Foundation is humbly looking for sponsors and golfers to help support the event and mission of the Ryan Minor Memorial Fund. For participation information, registration or to become a sponsor, please visit www.kimandevansff.org.
