Salisbury, MD — The City of Salisbury is excited to announce the launch of Game On! at Lake Street Playground, a new community-driven initiative designed to bring children and families together for fun, active play right in their neighborhood park. This program was developed in partnership with City Council Vice President April Jackson, who envisioned creating more programming directly within our City parks to foster community engagement and outdoor activity.

The program will officially kick off on June 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lake Street Playground. To celebrate, the kickoff event will feature a bounce house, the ice cream truck, and a variety of games and activities for kids to enjoy.

This program is completely free and no registration is required. Two part-time recreation staff members will be on-site to facilitate games, lead activities, and encourage kids to get active and make the most of their time in the park.

In addition, the program includes a partnership with Wicomico County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services, which will provide free lunch for children under 18 years old, Monday through Friday, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A full schedule, including dates, times, and activity details, is available on the event flyer and the City of Salisbury’s website.

“We’re excited to bring this program to Lake Street Playground,” said Community Relations Manager, Rachel Manning. “The goal is simple — to give kids a safe space to play, be active, and enjoy the outdoors right here in their community.”
