MAC Inc., Area Agency on Aging, celebrated the ground breaking of its new “Living Well” Education Center on the grounds of the Salisbury Wicomico Senior Services Center. The project is slated for completion by the end of June 2015.
The new wing will house three permanent classrooms and provide space for MAC’s health and wellness classes including the Evidence Based Self-Management Programs for persons with chronic disease, diabetes, chronic pain, and cancer. Also, one classroom will be dedicated for use by the Association of Lifelong Learning for their adult educational activities.
Sixty percent of the funding of the $1.1 million dollars needed to finance the new wing has been raised. The agency continues to accept tax deductible contributions to help complete the project. Donations may be made at www.macinc.org or by calling 410-742-0505.
Nearly three thousand people are expected to use the space as wellness programs continue to grow.
