Salisbury, MD— Todd Hershey, owner of three Arby’s locations in Salisbury, presented Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JAES) with $8,900 this past week.

Hershey nominated JAES for the $8,900 grant, provided by the Arby’s Foundation, earlier in the summer. “We were thrilled when we received the news of the approval,” said Lisa Thornton, JAES Development Director. “We knew we had been nominated, but we were not expecting a gift of this size. We are extremely excited to use this gift to serve our students,” she said.

This isn’t Hershey’s first time giving back to JAES. Last year, as a part of the annual in-restaurant fundraising program, the Make a Difference Campaign, Hershey’s three restaurants were able to grant $9,300 to JAES. “This fundraiser helps to ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Hershey. “We’re thrilled to be able to give back and reinvest funds into our community for such a significant cause.”

This year’s Make a Difference Campaign is already underway. From now through September 27, 2020, all proceeds donated go towards helping JA reach students on The Shore. “Success should be an equal opportunity to all,” said JAES President, Jayme Hayes. “And with the help of our amazing community, we’re making that happen.”

To support students here on The Shore and support JA, you can donate when placing your order at any of the three Arby’s locations in Salisbury. To learn more about JA and how to get involved, visit easternshoreja.org, and click “get involved”.
