Local real estate professionals honored at annual Awards Breakfast

Salisbury, Md. – In recognition of their hard work to uphold the highest of industry standards, six local real estate professionals were honored during the Coastal Association of REALTORS® (CAR) 2017 Annual Awards ceremony on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at The Fountains Wedding & Conference Center.
Linda Moran, a REALTOR® for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty in Ocean City, received this year’s REALTOR® of the Year Award for being an experienced, dedicated professional with a true passion for the industry and a lengthy resume of service to her local, state, and national associations. Moran is CAR’s current Immediate Past President and has been recognized for her support

of Coastal Hospice, The Sunshine Kids, and the Maryland Economic Development Corporation. Moran is especially dedicated to Continuing Education (CE), having earned her Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Certified Residential Specialist, and Graduate REALTOR® Institute designations, as well as her At Home With Diversity Certification through Maryland REALTORS®. She has also completed the Maryland REALTORS® Leadership Program, as well as numerous other professional development courses. Moran has assisted in the development and implementation of designations, certifications, and CE courses, and she is a regular speaker at local, state, and national events, as well as a coach to top agents and brokerages across the country.
Cam Bunting, a REALTOR® and broker with Bunting Realty in Berlin, won this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award for being a dedicated professional for over 30 years and fostering a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their homeownership dreams. Bunting also won this year’s Community Service Award for being an involved member of CAR and a shining example of how important it is for REALTORS® to give back to the places where they live and work. Bunting has served on numerous CAR committees, as well as on the association’s Board of Directors. She is also an active member of the local chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She has earned her Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Certified Residential Specialist, and Graduate REALTOR® Institute designations, as well as numerous certifications. She has done extensive volunteer and fundraising work for many local organizations, and most recently raised over $517,000 for Coastal Hospice at the Ocean, a new facility slated for construction in Ocean Pines. She has also supported Atlantic General Hospital, the Berlin Little League, the Better Business Bureau, the Berlin Election Committee, and the Berlin Restaurant Week Committee, among others. She’s received a number of local honors, including the 2015 Town of Berlin Citizen of the Year Awards and the 2016 Hats for Hospice Honoree Award.
Joe Wilson, a REALTOR® with Condominium Realty in Ocean City, won this year’s Outstanding Achievement Award for being a model REALTOR® whose dedication and enthusiasm have been key to the continued development of CAR. Wilson holds his Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation and is a candidate for the Certified Residential Specialist designation. He also holds several certifications. He currently serves on the CAR Board of Directors and is chair of the association’s Government Affairs Committee and REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Task Force. He serves the state association as a member of the Maryland REALTORS® Legislative Committee and as an RPAC Trustee. Wilson is very active in his local community and serves on the Ocean City Planning & Zoning Commission, as well as on committees for Coastal Hospice Brews & Bites, Atlantic General Hospital, and Ocean City Development Corporation, among others.
Brent Miller, a REALTOR® and broker with SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate in Salisbury, won this year’s Outstanding Commercial REALTOR® Award for his success in the local industry and his extensive community service. Miller holds his Certified Commercial Investment Member and Certified Property Manager designations, and has completed the Mike Lipsey School of Real Estate and the Darren Hardy Insane Productivity and Ludicrous programs. He has supported many local organizations and causes, including Chesapeake Housing Mission, Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy, Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, Salisbury University Foundation, United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, and Women Supporting Women, among many others.
Susan Lloyd of Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services in Ocean City won this year’s Outstanding Affiliate Award for being a dedicated member of CAR and for supporting numerous association events, committees, and educational efforts. Lloyd is a regular sponsor of CAR’s Business Card Exchanges and

Technology Fairs, as well as a sponsor of the 2016 Real Estate Hospitality Tent at the J. Millard Tawes Crab & Clam Bake in Crisfield. She has served on a number of CAR committees, has supported CAR-sponsored community outreach efforts, and is an active member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Community Church of Ocean Pines and on committees for the Eastern Shore Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association. She is an avid supporter of CE and teaches courses at CAR and at the Coldwell Banker School of Real Estate.
Austin Whitehead, a REALTOR® with Whitehead Real Estate Executives in Salisbury, won this year’s Rising Star Award for being a pillar of professionalism and positivity in the local industry. Whitehead serves on CAR’s Government Affairs Committee and participates in the association’s Young Professionals Network. Whitehead is an active member of the Emanuel Wesleyan Church and volunteers for Beta Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Lambda, and Beta Gamma Sigma. He has also volunteered as a team leader and volunteer for the Orange County United Way, Baltimore Junior Achievement, Special Olympics, and Baltimore’s Project Clean Stream. He is a Salisbury University graduate and has been featured in the Perdue School of Business Student Spotlight as being among the “Top 50 Sea Gull Success Stores,” after traveling to Belize to educate underprivileged children about financial literacy and responsibility on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Whitehead became a second-generation REALTOR® in 2015 after earning his Master of Business Administration degree from SU.
