April is Financial Literacy Month and local businesses are partnering with Junior Achievement (JA) to help fund programs that educate youth about how to make, spend, and save money in a responsible manner. During the month of April, participants will donate a set amount of money to forgo their standard business attire for one day and pull on jeans to support JA’s financial literacy mission.

Beginning in kindergarten, JA focuses on teaching children the importance of money management through age-appropriate programs, giving students the necessary skills to cultivate successful lives and become community leaders of tomorrow. It is through fundraisers like Jeans 4 JA that Junior Achievement continues its mission to bringing financial literacy education to every child.

Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore is a nonprofit organization committed to giving young people in all communities the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. Through its hands-on, age-appropriate programs Junior Achievement inspires our youth to live within their means, prepare for the world of work, and understand the free enterprise system. Today, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JAES) teaches more than six-thousand students across the Eastern Shore. To sign up your business for Jeans 4 JA, or to volunteer, email JAES at info@easternshoreja.org, phone at 410.742.8112, or log on to www.ja.org.
