The Lower Shore Land Trust is pleased to announce that Jennifer Merritt has been hired as Program and Development Coordinator. Jennifer brings over 10 years of non-profit experience to LSLT. Jennifer holds a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Her diverse experience includes leading teams performing aquatic biosampling on the Potomac River, serving as Executive Director for the Pocomoke Chamber of Commerce, and creating the successful application for the designation of the Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District as well as serving as the leadership for this District for four years. She served as the Circuit Rider for the cities of Crisfield and Pocomoke, and through this position, as the Assistant City Manager for Crisfield. Jen also served as the Technical Coordinator for the Maryland Coastal Bays Program, a role that involved both field work and grant writing and management. Together with her husband Rusty, she co-owns the business IT with Merritts, LLC. Jennifer lives in Pocomoke, where she enjoys gardening using native plants.
