Salisbury, MD – On January 26th, 2024, the Lower Shore Workforce Alliance is excited to host a Career Day for 80 Somerset County High School Seniors. The event is designed to provide students with valuable information about career pathways, apprenticeships, and training in the local area.

Participants: 80 seniors from Somerset County High Schools
Career Day will feature workshops led by local businesses, focusing on career opportunities, apprenticeships, and training programs available on the Lower Eastern Shore. Students will have the unique chance to interact with industry professionals, gaining insights into various career pathways.
Highlighted Activities:
Transfer VR Experience: Students will have the opportunity to explore Transfer VR, a virtual reality career exploratory headset, giving them hands-on experience in different job roles.
Industry Sector Meetings: Students will meet with local industry representatives, including Delaware Elevator, TidalHealth, Seaside Plumbing, and Chesapeake Shipbuilding. This engagement will offer firsthand insights into various professions and career opportunities.
Mock Interviews: Students will participate in mock interviews, giving them practical and constructive experience to sharpen their interview skills.
