The design of the Main Street Masterplan project is underway! The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held in the Perdue Conference Room at the Chamber Building which is located at 144 East Main Street in Salisbury. The engineering firm for this project, A. Morton Thomas & Associates, Inc., will present the Scope of Work, the project schedule, concept level streetscape features and the 2009 Concept Study that is the basis of the design for this project. The public and local business owners are encouraged to attend this presentation. There will be time allotted for questions from the public. Additionally, Geotechnical work associated with the project is scheduled to be performed on East Main Street and West Main Street, between West Market Street and South Salisbury Boulevard (Route 13). The Geotechnical work will begin on Monday, July 21, 2014 and will end by Friday, July 25, 2014, barring unforeseen delays. The Geotechnical work will be performed between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm. Notification of upcoming Utility Inspection work will follow after completion of the Geotechnical work.
East Main Street, West Main Street, and Division Street will remain open during the Geotechnical work. You may experience delays due to traffic pattern modifications.
