
Salisbury, MD —The Maryland Department of Veterans & Military Families Veterans Trust Fund recently granted $15,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County (HFHWC). This grant funding will be used to complete critical home repairs and aging in place modifications for low-income veteran homeowners in Wicomico and Somerset Counties.
“Organizations such as Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County are committed to ensuring that no veteran in Maryland is left behind, particularly on the Eastern Shore,” said Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families Secretary Anthony Woods. “The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund is committed to supporting impactful initiatives statewide, bolstering efforts to make Maryland the premier state for members of the military-connected community.”
HFHWC joined the Habitat for Humanity International Veteran Build program in 2023, pledging to serve more veterans and veteran families with critical home repairs and affordable homeownership. Since that time, HFHWC has served veterans and their spouses with critical home repairs.
“The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County to support their Veteran critical home repair program,” said Maryland Veterans Trust Fund Executive Director Heather Geraldes “This program ensures those who served our country have safe, stable housing and the dignity they deserve.”
