In honor of National Small Business and Military Appreciation Month, you will hear from veteran small business resources including the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and our own Maryland’s Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) Program. We will also be joined by a VSBE Liaison with the Maryland Department of General Services to share VSBE best practices. We will take a look at the certification process at both the State and Federal levels, review common procurement best practices, tactics, and protocols to help veteran business owners compete with greater confidence.

Who should attend? Veteran-owned business owners and entrepreneurs who are ready and able to compete for opportunities in the federal & state contracting arena.

Anatomy of a Bid
for Prime & Subcontractors

Are you a Prime or Subcontractor looking to learn more about how to review a solicitation in the State of Maryland? If you are a Small, Minority, Women and/or Veteran-Owned company and want to perform as a Prime Contractor (Primes) to do business with the State of Maryland you will learn about the parts of a solicitation, their meanings, and what Primes should pay attention to in order to be deemed a responsible bidder. Primes will also learn some of the requirements such as monthly reporting once a contract has commenced. In addition, Small, Minority, Women, and Veteran-Owned companies wishing to perform as Subcontractors (Subs) on State contracts will learn how to be proactive in their search for partnering with Prime Contractors and what is expected of them once a contract is awarded.
