The big news from the Governor’s press conference yesterday is additional steps taken to complete Phase 1 of the reopen Maryland plan. Starting Friday, May 29 at 5:00pm restaurants will be able to begin outdoor dining, following public health requirements consistent with CDC. No more than 6 people at a table, paper menus or sanitize menus, sanitize tables, staff trained in guidelines, staff temperature checks, masks/face coverings worn.  The idea of closing streets for outdoor seating where possible and expanding into parking lots where feasible, was suggested.

Outdoor Dining: Restaurants as well as social organizations such as American Legions, VFWs, and Elks Clubs will be able to begin safely reopening for outdoor dining following strict public health requirements consistent with the CDC, FDA, and the National Restaurant Association.

STAGE TWO. Governor Hogan noted that health officials will continue to watch the data closely, and if these encouraging trends continue into next week, the state will then be in a position to move into Stage Two of the recovery, which would mean lifting the order on non-essential businesses.
