Salisbury, Md. – Advisor George Merritt of NAI Coastal recently facilitated the sale of a commercial real estate portfolio on behalf of the Bennett family in Seaford, Delaware.
In 2021, the Bennett family entrusted Merritt with the representation of five properties in Seaford. The portfolio included several notable properties. Four of the properties sold within months including 312 High Street, home to the historic Bon Appetit restaurant, which was sold with the tenant in place. The investment properties located at 304 and 401 High Street are now leased to new tenants, including an insurance agency and a newly opened restaurant. The portfolio also included Passwaters Self Storage, located at 22585 Bridgeville Highway.
The final and most prominent asset in the portfolio sale was the former Harley-Davidson dealership located at 22585 Sussex Highway. Situated on four acres along Route 13, the property includes multiple buildings and is now home to Lakeshore CDJR. The total portfolio was valued at nearly $3 million.
“It was a great honor to help ensure that Spuck Bennett’s legacy in commercial real estate was carried through. He was dedicated to the preservation of Downtown Seaford so we were intentional in finding the right fit. We identified a buyer who truly appreciates the historical significance of these properties and is committed to maintaining them with the same care Spuck did,” said Merritt.
