Easton, MD – Mid Shore Pro Bono Rebranded to Shore Legal Access to Build Engagement Across Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Mid-Shore Pro Bono, a non-profit organization on Maryland’s Eastern Shore that provides free legal services to low-income community members, today announced two grand re-opening events in its new offices in Easton and Salisbury, Maryland. The events will celebrate the organization’s rebranding from Mid-Shore Pro Bono to Shore Legal Access.
“We started as Mid-Shore Pro Bono in 2005 and have since outgrown our name as we now serve eight counties across the Eastern Shore of Maryland,” said Meredith Girard, executive director, Shore Legal Access. “To be inclusive of all the communities we serve, our Board knew it was time for a name change.”
“The Board has been working on the rebrand for a year and we are excited to share it with our respective communities, partners, business leaders and attorneys seeking to support the mission,” said Timothy Abeska Esq, Board president. “The beauty of an organization like Shore Legal Access, to a retired attorney, like me, who practiced law in another state his entire career, is the opportunity it gives me to represent people here in Maryland as a volunteer. I see firsthand how access to justice changes people’s lives.”
“The name Shore Legal Access better identifies the entire base of our services,” said Juanita Sutton, senior paralegal, and lower shore manager for Shore Legal Access. “We are seeing major growth in our family law cases, debtor assistance program and landlord tenant cases which proves the demand for legal representation across the Shore. All the resources, education, and counsel we provide impact the economic stability of the people we serve. This rebrand will provide greater exposure and access to the individuals and families who need our help.”
“To keep up with the growing demand for our services, we have relocated and expanded our Easton and Salisbury offices, hired more staff and brought in more volunteers,” added Girard. “We are thrilled to celebrate our new brand, new space and our growing network with the Eastern Shore.”
