Salisbury, MD — The Salisbury Zoo continues its commitment to growth and excellence as part of our ongoing effort to regain accreditation through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). As we move forward, we are excited to share the next phase of improvements designed to enhance both the guest experience and the overall accessibility of the Zoo.
Beginning Monday, October 13, through Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Zoo will be temporarily closed to all guests while crews complete a major resurfacing of pathways throughout the grounds. This important project will:
  • Improve visitor safety by creating smooth, durable walking surfaces.
  • Enhance accessibility for guests of all abilities, including those with strollers, wheelchairs, or mobility needs.
  • Elevate the overall guest experience, ensuring that every visit to the Zoo is both enjoyable and comfortable.
The Zoo is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, October 16, 2025, with refreshed pathways ready to welcome visitors. Please note that the project is weather-dependent, and dates may shift if conditions require.
