More than 150 from SU Recognized with 2025 Faculty and Staff Service Awards

Salisbury, MD – Salisbury University recently recognized some 168 employees with more than 2,200 years of combined service to the University at its annual Faculty and Staff Service Awards reception.

     Dr. Kenneth Smith was recognized for the most milestone years of service, celebrating 40 years with the Accounting and Legal Studies Department.

     Those recognized for 35 years included Paul Clements (Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology), Dr. Memo Diriker (Marketing), Tammy Harris (Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts), Ken Kundell (Information Technology), Agata Liszkowska (International Enrollment Services) and Dr. Kathleen Shannon (Mathematics).

     Joy Baker (Financial Services), Dr. Christopher Briand (Biological Sciences), Dr. Xingzhi “Mara” Chen (Geography and Geosciences), Dr. Grace Clement (Philosophy), Regina Copeland (University Dining Services) Annette Dickerson (Samuel W. and Marilyn C. Seidel School of Education), Carl Dise (SU Post Office), David Gutoskey (Housing and Residence Life), Dr. Maarten Pereboom (Fulton School of Liberal Arts), Marilyn Ruddy (SU Libraries), Bernadette Sturgis (Custodial Services) and Dr. Gal Welsh (Physics) were lauded for 30 years.

     Recognized for 25 years of service were Dr. Cecilia Acocella (Psychology), Dr. Carolina Bown (Communication), Marykathryne Brown (Art), Nicholas Chamberlain (Information Technology), Kelli Delgado (University Dining Services), Dr. Timothy Dunn (Sociology), Dr. Danny Ervin (Finance), Michael Foster (University Dining Services), Beatrice Hearne (Custodial Services), Dr. Mindy Howard (Chemistry), James Jones (Athletics), Colleen Kirby (Physical Plant), Dr. Herman Manakyan (Finance) and Dr. Andrew Sharma (Communication).

     Some 135 additional faculty and staff were honored for five to 20 years of service.

     In addition, 68 adjunct faculty were honored for at least 10-50 semesters of service. Those with the most service included John Kiser (Environmental Studies) and Sidney Schneider (Health Sciences) with at least 50 semesters each, and Charlene Matthews Creese (Communication), James Hatley (Environmental Studies), Joseph Ingolia (Marketing) and Edward Nichols (Music, Theatre and Dance) with at least 40 each.
