More Than Dirt: The Land Group’s New Website Brings Their Story to Life

Salisbury, MD — The Land Group has launched a new website, thelandgroup.com, with more than just a fresh design. The new site captures the company’s identity and philosophy—treating land not just as a transaction, but as a long-term asset and vital natural resource. The website offers improved user experience, featuring intuitive navigation, interactive mapping tools, public commercial and agricultural listings, and exclusive land listings only available through The Land Group.

“The land is where we do our work. We are not just salespeople or realtors—we are land brokers,” said Ben Alder, founder of The Land Group. “It was important to me that the website reflect that.”

From the start, Alder had a clear vision. The Land Group hired D3 to translate that vision into a clean, content-rich, and visually distinctive site. The website needed to feel grounded and real—like the land itself. He shared old photographs and ideas that shaped the look and tone of the site. “I knew what I wanted. It had to feel authentic and represent our connection to land in a meaningful way,” said Alder. “D3 got the look and feel right out of the gate. It took time to tweak and dial it in, but they were incredibly patient and collaborative throughout.”

A standout feature is a custom-built interactive map—something The Land Group had tried to build multiple times with other developers. “As a land company, you live on a map,” Alder said. “Static photos don’t cut it. Land needs to be understood spatially. This was a huge lift, but D3 figured it out.”

The site also, for the first time, shares the full story of The Land Group—its people, purpose, and the bigger picture behind the work. “Telling our story was the most vulnerable part,” Alder said. “But it felt good to finally put into words what makes us different.” All the content was written in-house, reflecting the company’s genuine voice. “I care about words,” Alder said. “We did not want anything generic or AI-generated. We wanted it to sound like us—because it is.”

“Ben and The Land Group came to us with a vision that was deeply rooted in authenticity, purpose, and place,” said Jay Bosley, COO of D3. “Our role was to build a site that did not just display listings—it had to tell their story and reflect the way they think about land. From the interactive map to the curated visuals and language, every detail was crafted to honor that vision.”

The Land Group collaborates with private landowners, nonprofits, and corporations across the region. With this new site, they have created a digital presence that mirrors the values they bring to every deal: stewardship, strategy, and respect for the land.
