With a growing practice in Salisbury, Maryland, Dr. James Crouse of The Brace Place saw an opportunity to expand their operations with an office in Easton, Maryland. Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF) was hired to provide architectural services for their new 2,400 SF orthodontist office located in the Easton Medical Center at 598 Cynwood Drive.
Working with the equipment supplier, Design Ergonomics, Inc., DBF assisted with the final floor plan. The plan consisted of a waiting area, children’s play area, brushing station, open plan treatment area, X-ray room, consulting rooms, lab spaces, and a business office. Storage space was of high importance, so discreet storage areas were designed under the family bench seating, located in the treatment area and brushing station. Additional treatment supply storage was built into the dividing partitions between the treatment chairs.
Whayland Company served as the general contractor for the project, which was completed and open for business in June of 2018. Chris Cullen, AIA, Project Architect noted, “Having previously worked with The Brace Place on their Salisbury office location, it was great to assist with this new location as they expanded their business to better serve their customers on the Delmarva peninsula.”
