Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) today announced that nominations are being accepted for the Medical Center’s Leighton Moore Helping Hands Award.
Moore, a local philanthropist and owner of Seacrets, Jamaica USA in Ocean City, MD, has also been the Chairman of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors since 2006.
“Leighton has donated an extraordinary amount of his personal time to raise funds for our Medical Center with the sole purpose of expanding and improving the healthcare services we offer to our community,” added PRMC President/CEO, Dr. Peggy Naleppa. “Through his passion, he remains an example for us all.”
The award will be presented annually to the non-management PRMC employee who, like Leighton Moore himself, has exhibited passion and dedication to the lives of others, and to their local community. Examples would include, but are not limited to: service to their house of worship, assisting at local shelters, volunteering at local crisis centers or other agencies that assist community members at their times of need, serving as a coach for a youth sports team or enhancing a community outreach group through their participation. The award will be presented each year at the PRMC Employee Recognition Banquet during National Hospital Week in May, and the honoree will also recognized at the PRMC Annual Board of Trustees meeting in October.
Nominations for the Leighton Moore Helping Hands Award are welcome from PRMC staff, physicians, volunteers or the community at large.
