Salisbury, MD – Data collection to gather community feedback wants and needs in relation to a public, ADA-accessible restroom in Downtown Salisbury. We are Salisbury University students who are collecting data in a research project in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office in the City of Salisbury. Our names are River Myer, Hayden Davis, and Elizabeth Wash, and we are SU Presidential Citizen Scholars conducting an IRB-approved survey (Protocol #131) on community feedback regarding a public, ADA-accessible restroom in Downtown Salisbury. This survey will be open for data collection until March 31st, 2023. Following this, we will analyze the data to be presented to community members and city leaders at the PACE Showcase at Salisbury University on April 27th of 2023.
In 2022, we received collaborative support from the Mayor’s Office to investigate community and stakeholder feedback regarding the absence of an accessible public restroom in Downtown Salisbury. We believe the findings of this research will be vital in informing future development and community events in Downtown Salisbury and representing the needs of local business owners.
