Piedmont Airlines Breaks Records with United Way Campaign

Piedmont

Piedmont Airlines recently presented a check from the company’s most recent employee campaign to United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore in the amount of $50,001.  This record-breaking amount for Piedmont’s 2015-2016 campaign is $20,000 more than last year, and tops all other previous years in the campaign history of the Salisbury, Maryland airline.

In the past six years, Piedmont has raised over $174,000 for the local United Way and Lower Eastern Shore residents in need.  In 2013, the local airline expanded their United Way campaign to more than 80 locations including Charlotte, NC, Philadelphia, PA, and Phoenix, AZ, offering employees nationwide the opportunity to contribute.

In addition to annual campaigns, employees at Piedmont Airlines headquarters in Salisbury annually host a “Dash Pull” fundraiser, where teams compete to pull a Dash-8 Aircraft, and all proceeds benefit the local United Way.  The 2015 Dash Pull raised $5,285, and Piedmont locations in Harrisburg, Roanoke, Philadelphia and Charlotte also held United Way Dash Pull fundraisers.

“One in three people in our community have been touched by programs funded by the United Way,” said Steve Farrow, President and CEO of Piedmont Airlines. “For that reason, Piedmont and our employees are proud to contribute to the annual campaign. By supporting the United Way we are doing our part to promote a healthy, vibrant community.”
