The SACC and many curious members were delighted to join on November 7th Pole Dance Paradise owners Melisa and Alexandros Pikounis on their ribbon cutting event that celebrated their new studio in downtown Salisbury.
Melisa, a Buenos Aires native, started pole dancing in Argentina and mentioned that there it is considered a sport and there are many studios just like joining a yoga or pilates studio.  She started practicing pole dancing to help her with stress and anxiety, but it became very important for her wellbeing.   When she moved to Salisbury, she really missed this exercise and decided to open a studio in April 2024.
“I am especially thankful to my husband Alexandros for helping me make this dream possible. We have been very successful so far, and for me it has been very important to change the perception of pole dancing, and to make sure it is identified more as a sport/exercise that makes you work out muscles that you did not even know you had.  It’s a challenging workout and a powerful experience that transforms both body and mind. Every bit of the progress is fantastic.  I am so excited about the community we are creating here at Pole Dance Paradise and the support we are giving each other”.
