KindSBY, the nonprofit, Salisbury-based Kindness initiative, will be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week, from Feb. 14-20, with many activities intended to better the community.
“To spread kindness locally, people can join and support kindSBY,” said Heather Brooks, Salisbury’s official Secretary of Kindness. “Kind SBY is a community initiative that works to effect positive change in schools, governments, businesses and neighborhoods.”
KindSBY’s plans for the week include:
-
Donating toys to Brooke’s Toy Closet, a toy donation project at TIdalHealth
-
Donating bags of necessities to the Anne Street Village, Salisbury’s transitional housing community for unhoused residents
-
Bringing doughnuts to local first responders
-
Donating kindness-themed game posters to 53 second-grade classrooms across Wicomico County
“We encourage people to incorporate kindness into their daily lives,” Brooks said. “If they can support KindSBY through volunteering or sponsorship, it will make our city a kinder place to live.”
