Wor-Wic Community College is inviting the public to a free virtual reading by Dorianne Laux, a poet who was named as a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2020 for her book “Only as the Day Is Long,” on Wednesday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m., via Zoom.
Laux is also the author of several other poetry collections and books. “Facts About the Moon,” won the Oregon Book Award and was short-listed for the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, and “The Book of Men” was awarded the Paterson Prize. She also wrote “The Poet’s Companion: A Guide to the Pleasures of Writing Poetry.” She has won a Pushcart Prize and received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The event, part of the Echoes & Visions literary series, is free and open to the public. Visit the events section of www.worwic.edu for more information.
