25 Teams played the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore’s 13th Annual Eastern Shore Golf Classic. That is the largest number of teams EVER to play at this event.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore (BBBSES) held its 13th Annual Eastern Shore Golf Classic on August 15th, at the River Marsh Golf Club at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina. Major sponsors for the tournament included Presenting Sponsor – Delmarva Power, Hole-in-One Sponsor – Pohanka of Salisbury, and Putting Sponsors – Queenstown Bank, Pool Tech, Inc., and the Bank of Delmarva. Co-chairs for the event were John Petito of Delmarva Power and Jimmy Sweet of the Delmarva Shorebirds.
25 teams teed off at 12:45 PM on Monday to raise money for programs for children facing adversity. The mild temperature and slight breeze was perfect to play golf. Upon registration, each golfer received an engraved gift from West-O-Bottle Shop and a Cigar from the Smoke Shop as a thank you for their contribution to the charity. Lunch and the dinner reception was provided by the Hyatt Regency’s catering staff.
Immediately following the tournament, awards were presented for first, second & third place gross, first, second & third place net, and closest to the pin.

Second Place Gross – Salisbury Moose Team #2 – Clyde Mariner, King Stade, Chris Brewington, and Dave Hall

First Place Net – American Legion #1 – Tom Wengert, Jim Wolfe, Gil Borrandale, and Ben Dawson
Second Place Net – Mid-Atlantic Organic Resource Company – Marquis Roberts, Rog Etgen, Dave Tribbit, and Tyler Longfellow
Third Place Net – Robinson Team – Tom Robinson, Eric Wilson, Tracey Brown, and Mike Casson
