Risk Placement Services Sets New Fundraising Record to Support United Way’s Imagination Library

Risk Placement Services (RPS) recently held their 8th Annual Disc Golf Tournament raising a record-breaking $24,080 benefit United Way’s Imagination Library Program.   Now the largest disc golf tournament in the State of Maryland, 55 teams competed at Schumaker Pond Park in Salisbury, MD to raise funds for the program which provides free, home-delivered books each month to local children from birth to age five.  Event sponsors included RPS, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., AXIS Capital, Hanover Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance, CHUBB Insurance, CNA Insurance, Unites States Liability Insurance (USLI), Hiscox USA Insurance, Liberty Mutual – Safeco Insurance, Beazley Insurance, Selective Insurance, and Westchester Insurance.

55 teams enjoyed a perfect day at Schumaker Pond Park in Salisbury, MD for the 8th Annual Disc Golf Tournament hosted by Risk Placement Services. Wellspring Insurance Network earned the 1st place trophy.

Wellspring Insurance Network, from Frederick, MD took home the 1st Place trophy this year with Affordable Business Systems of Delmar, MD placing 2nd and the team from WBOC/Draper Holdings, Salisbury, MD taking 3rd.

Dean Goodwin, Marketing Manager of RPS and event coordinator of the tournament shared, “I am absolutely overwhelmed and humbled by the support and generosity of our carrier partners, our local insurance agency clients and the entire Delmarva business community.  This event gets bigger every year!”

RPS also hosts the Annual “Preakness Palooza” event alongside parent company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.  Over the past seven years, these two events have raised over $184,000 for Imagination Library, equating to 85,000 free books for local children to help prepare them for kindergarten.

The Imagination Library Literacy program is administered by United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, and to date has distributed over 196,000 books to over 7,500 children in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester counties since its inception in 2012.

United Way President & CEO Pam Gregory stated, “The support we receive each year from these events is absolutely remarkable.  RPS & Gallagher have created super fun events to directly support early learning for local children, while also providing a great team building and networking experience for attendees”.
