River Park Center has welcomed a second tenant, the Salisbury Dialysis Center, to the recently renovated office complex. This new facility for American Renal Associates – one of the largest providers of dialysis services in the United States – will occupy Suite 200 of River Park Center; Suite 100 currently serves as the corporate headquarters for Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF): Architects, Engineers and Surveyors. The addition of the Salisbury Dialysis Center essentially completes the occupancy of River Park Center, which was first occupied by DBF one year ago in December of 2016.
A key component of urban planning for the Main Street corridor and the connection of the park to downtown Salisbury, River Park Center is situated directly across from the City Park at what is considered a “gateway” property, particularly for vehicles exiting Route 50 en route to Snow Hill Road, the park or Downtown. The renovation of the building’s shell, now complete with the addition of the Salisbury Dialysis Center, was a collaborative effort that included the City of Salisbury, DBF, the developer and contractor – their goal was to renovate a neglected building into a business center while also fulfilling a portion of the City’s goals for redevelopment.
In a nod to the existing architecture located within and near the City Park, DBF designed the front façade of the former supermarket building to have a conservatory look. The firm also re-designed the entire existing 21,000+ SF building exterior to add windows to improve natural lighting and, in order to meet the needs of the Salisbury Dialysis Center, expand plumbing and mechanical systems, enlarge the entrance door, and extend the portico. Gillis Gilkerson completed the construction work for the building shell and related site improvements. Silicato Development is the property’s developer.
“Our vision for River Park Center is now complete with the addition of the Salisbury Dialysis Center, which has beautifully renovated nearly all of the remaining leasable space within the building,” stated DBF principal Mike Wigley. “Being a part of a project that has brought life back to a neglected building in a wonderful location with a dedicated team of professionals has been gratifying.”
The Salisbury Dialysis Center is now open and accepting new patients. The facility’s hours are 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, with plans to expand into Saturday as patient census increases.
