Gillis Gilkerson, one of the most stable and trusted Construction Management and General Contracting firms on Delmarva, today announced the completion and donation of a section of Salisbury’s Riverwalk from Riverview Commons, LLC to the City of Salisbury.
“Palmer, JB and myself recognize the Wicomico River is important to the revitalization of our city,” said Dwight Miller, Riverview Commons, LLC. “We are glad to take part in paving the way for community connectivity and the improvement of streetscapes and foot traffic in Salisbury’s urban core.”
“As our plans and projects become reality, we are thrilled to receive the support of our community leaders,” said Salisbury Mayor Jake Day. “Riverview Commons, LLC has been a community champion and we are so thankful for their generosity as our Riverwalk continues to take shape.”

The city recently bid the construction portion of the landscaping and hardscaping plans and the bids are currently under review. Next steps include awarding the contract and installing plantings, benches, trash cans and new street lights along the length of the Riverwalk. The city will also fill in a gap in the Riverwalk along Market Street near Lot 1.
The city plans to award the project this fall and have construction complete in the summer of 2018.
