The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, friends and family, were delighted to join on August 19 local entrepreneur Montse Tlalolini in the ribbon cutting celebration for her jewelry business Turmalina.
Guests gathered to learn about Tlalolini’s handcrafted jewelry designs and creative vision for Turmalina, a business dedicated to offering beautiful, affordable accessories that complement both casual and formal attire. During the event, Tlalolini showcased some of her signature pieces while sharing the inspiring story behind her entrepreneurial journey.
“My passion for jewelry and gemstones started as a family affair with my mother and sister in my native Mexico,” said Tlalolini. “After moving to the United States, I focused on earning my master’s degree and starting a family, but my passion for creating beautiful jewelry never faded. When I learned about the Rommel Center’s Ignite Program, it gave me the perfect opportunity to continue that passion here in Salisbury, and that is how Turmalina began.”
Today, Turmalina offers a wide selection of handcrafted jewelry and accessories. Customers can visit Tlalolini’s studio, located at 212 W. Main Street, Suite 205E, in downtown Salisbury, contact her for private appointments, or find Turmalina products at locations in Salisbury, Berlin and Crisfield.
In addition to her handcrafted collections, Tlalolini offers a unique Charm and Earring Bar experience, where groups can gather to create their own jewelry pieces or design custom accessories with Tlalolini’s guidance and finishing touches. Looking ahead, she hopes to expand Turmalina into the wholesale market and eventually open a standalone boutique storefront.
The ribbon-cutting celebration featured light refreshments, giveaways, and opportunities for guests to win themed gift baskets and a Charm and Earring Bar experience. As a special thank-you, each attendee received a handmade beaded bracelet crafted by Tlalolini.
