On September 24, 2021, the SACC welcomed 144 golfers to the Annual Chamber Golf Classic, presented by Brian Spicer and Spicer Brothers Construction.

The Hyatt River Marsh Gold Club played host to this year’s Classic and despite heavy rain the day prior, the course was in excellent condition. Golfers checked in early, received their golfer gift bags then were treated to breakfast bags sponsored by Gallagher Insurance and snack bags provided by Veronica James, REALTOR®, ERA Martin Associates.

Prior to teeing off, players gathered on the first fairway for 50/50 ball drop, sponsored by Choptank Electric Cooperative. The Choptank Electric crew’s aim was perfect, dropping three hundred-thirty balls and ball #84 landing in the hole! Martin Harrison of the PKS & Company, PA team took home the 50/50 prize.

Platinum Sponsors included Craig Jahelka and the WBOC team and Nick Simpson of The Ross. Sandy Fitzgerald-Angello and Pohanka Automotive of Salisbury once again sponsored the Hole-In-One contest.

Many of the tournament’s sponsors were out on the course as Interactive Hole Sponsors holding contests for prizes, handing out snacks and golfer gifts to the players. As an interactive hole sponsor or as a team, Spicer Bros. Construction, WBOC, The Ross, Pohanka of Salisbury, Allen + Shariff Corporation, Delmarva Sports Network, Value One Carpet, BBSI, Chaney Enterprises, Choptank Electric, Gillis Gilkerson, Mountaire Farms, Provident State Bank, and Whiting-Turner, Goosehead Insurance, Gallagher Insurance, and Avery Hall Insurance enjoyed the gorgeous weather and showed their support for the Chamber. M&T Bank sponsored the Putting Contest, which was won by Bob Dickey.

Each player received three sleeves of balls, provided by Ball Sponsors Craig Jahelka, Delmarva Sports Network; Chris Adams, Value One Carpet; and Bill Pettitt, Allen & Shariff.  Pin Flag Sponsors included Vision Realty Group, Willow Construction, LLC, and W.R. McCain.

Once again, the strong team from Pohanka Automotive Group of Salisbury took home the 1st place team low gross award with Salisbury Door & Hardware, Inc. claiming the 1st place team low net award. The TidalHealth team took second place gross and 3rd place was won by the BBSI team. Choptank Electric won 2nd place net and Allen + Shariff Corporation scored 3rd place net.

Longest drive winners were Sabrina Bleech and Keith White, and closest to the pin winners were Sandy Fitzgerald-Angello and Jason Gidge.

Beverages were generously provided once again by Eastern Shore Distributing and Pepsi Bottling Ventures. After the tournament and awards, BDK, Inc. provided a delicious buffet lunch, served inside the River Marsh Grill room.

The Chamber thanks Todd Dudek, Dudek Photography and Wayne Barrall Photography for coordinating efforts in photographing this year’s tournament.
