Grocery Outlet will Partner With HALO Hope and Life Outreach and Community Members to Tackle Food Insecurity

Salisbury, MD – Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, the extreme-value grocery retailer, is hosting its 13th Annual Independence from Hunger® Food Drive, to combat food insecurity and support families in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities throughout America. From June 28 to July 31, 2023, Salisbury Grocery Outlet is teaming up with HALO Hope and Life Outreach, to collect food and cash donations in-store and online.

Families and children in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities throughout the US are at continued risk of experiencing food insecurity, lacking the basic nutrients necessary for the development of an active, healthy life. With the ongoing inflation, families continue to turn to food banks as 34 million people in the United States are currently food insecure.

Customers can make a difference by visiting Salisbury Grocery Outlet and participating in one of these easy steps:

  • Give $5, get $5. Donate $5 or more in a single transaction in-store or online and you will receive a coupon for $5 off a future purchase of $25 or more.
  • Donate at check out. Tell your cashier you want to make a cash donation at the register. Donations will go directly to that store’s local food agency partner. Donate $1, $5 or round up your change.
  • Attend the Dunk Tank Fundraiser. Grocery Outlet is inviting community members to participate in their first annual Dunk Tank Fundraiser on Saturday, July 22nd, 11 am – 2 pm. Guests can purchase 3 balls for $5 with a chance to dunk Joe Bean, Owner and Operator of Salisbury Grocery Outlet, store employees and leaders from local businesses in the community. All proceeds benefit HALO Hope and Life Outreach.
