Salisbury Jaycees Announce 2014 Year-End Awards

The Salisbury Jaycees recently announced its 2014 award winners during the chapter’s annual Awards and Installation Banquet. Honorees included:

  • Project of the Year – Soft Shell Metric Century, Debbie Oland and Don Rutledge, chairpersons
  • New Project of the Year – Oktoberfest Beer Street, Lacey Coleman, chairperson
  • Chairpersons of the Year – Joel Maher and Ashley Morris, Children’s Christmas Shopping Tour
  • Committee of the Year – Salisbury Christmas Parade, Megan Batchelder and Samantha Chesley, chairpersons
  • Bill Adkins Achievement Award (most growth by a first-year member) – Megan Batchelder
  • Most Enthusiastic New Member – Brian Bonsteel
  • William C. Brownfield Award (most active first-year member) – Vinnie Sirna
  • John Armbruster Award (most active veteran member) – Kristi Lewis
  • Wayne Reichert Hidden Hero Award – Lacey Coleman
  • Sean McLaughlin Friendliest Jaycee Award – Samantha Chesley
  • Key Person Award – Joel Maher
  • John Jacob Jr. Executive Board Member of the Year – Samantha Chesley
  • John Culver Jaycee of the Year – Vinnie Sirna

During the ceremony, the chapter’s 2015 board of directors also was sworn in. It includes President Joel Maher, Chairman of the Board Emily Nock, Management Development Vice President Kristy Johnson, Individual Development Vice President Samantha Chesley, Community Development Vice President Lacey Coleman, Membership Vice President Megan Batchelder, State Director Travis Fisher, Secretary Vinnie Sirna, Treasurer Don Rutledge, and directors Michelle Howard, Kellie Johnson, Jess Kling, Kyle Livingston and Ashley Morris.

Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the Salisbury Jaycees is a community service, social and leadership training organization for men and women ages 18-40 on Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore. Membership meetings are 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Business Center.
