On Saturday, March 9 a crowning celebration was provided for Ms. Dominiqu Sessa at the Salisbury Art Space, She is the First Eastern Shore native to ever be crowned Ms. Wheelchair Maryland. Citations were presented to Ms. Sessa by Salisbury City Mayor Randy Taylor, Senator Mary Beth Carozza, and the Governor’s Office.
Ms. Sessa currently serves as a governor-appointed commissioner on the Maryland Commission on Disabilities and will travel throughout the state advocating for inclusion and equity for all people with disabilities. As a Salisbury native, Ms. Sessa has helped to get Disability Awareness Month recognized by the City of Salisbury and has been the recipient of the Salisbury Human Rights Award.

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce’s Education Network is a collaborative catalyst between businesses, non-profits, and educators on the lower shore. The SACC-EN reviews the entire education footprint impacting our community to address challenges, seek solutions, share successes, identify needed support, form meaningful partnerships, and provide advocacy to help our community thrive. Lastly, we create communications to reach all stakeholders impacted because we believe that “Education is Everyone’s Business!”
