Salisbury, MD – The Salisbury Zoo offers a new slate of events this summer that are fun for the whole family.
First up is Breakfast with Bears, set for Saturday, July 20, from 8-10 a.m., the day before Andean Bear Day. Families will enjoy a light breakfast at the Zoo, along with fun activities and a talk by animal care staff, with enrichment. Admission is $30 for ages 13-plus and $20 for kids ages 2-12; members get a $5 discount. A portion of proceeds will go toward the new Andean bear exhibit.
Bunk with the Beasts, the Salisbury Zoo’s overnight campout, returns Friday-Saturday, Aug. 2-3, from 6 p.m.-9 a.m. This year’s cost is based on tent size, ranging from $100-300, and there are discounts for members. Guests should bring their own tents and sleeping bags and can enjoy dinner, a guided tour, activities, animal encounters, a night hike and breakfast. Bunk with the Beasts will also be offered Sept. 13-14.
Space is limited for Breakfast with Bears and Bunk with the Beasts, and admission should be purchased in advance online.
Celebrate International Owl Awareness Day a day early at the Zoo with the Zoo’s first Zoovies Night, on Saturday, Aug. 3, with gates opening at 6 p.m. Watch a movie on the big screen. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids and free for members. Attendees can get a free popcorn if they bring school supplies to donate.
“Experience the Salisbury Zoo in a new way with our upcoming family-friendly events, which are all offered beyond the Zoo’s regular hours,” said Development Supervisor Jamie Nichols. “Members save on each of these events, so it’s also a good time to become a member.”
