Dove Pointe in Salisbury was packed on June 5th with Delmarva foodies for the 16th Annual Taste of the Town with Delmarva Eats, presented by The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Evolution Craft Brewing Company, and Southern Boys Concepts.
Throughout the event, attendees cast their votes for their favorite dishes in each of three categories – Simple Tastes representing casual, light fare; Signature Tastes, representing upscale, more refined dishes; and Delectable Desserts, representing the crème de la crème of Delmarva desserts.
Open to the public, attendees enjoyed unlimited food samples, local craft brews, and a full bar, provided by Sobo’s Wine Beerstro.
It was a competitive year in the Delectable Desserts category with five participating businesses working hard to appeal to everyone’s sweet tooth!
Lisa Dale of Krave A Gluten Free Shoppe was this year’s Delectable Desserts winner with her Cinnamon Roll, Slutty Brownie, Chocolate and Strawberry Cupcakes, Zebra Cakes, and Pop Tarts.
Jo Jo’s Family Restaurant won for a second year in a row, this year in the Signature Tastes category, with their Colossal Crab Cakes. DaRon, Ty Parsons and the JoJo’s team offered an expansive spread, and guests were lining up for samplings of their mouthwatering crab soup, numerous sweets, and appetizers.
It was a great day for a new business owner Meghan Weismiller. With a unique and flavorful Curry Chicken Salad, The Modern Graze took home the prize for the Simple Taste Category. Located in Willards, MD, The Modern Graze offers lavish, unique grazing boxes and boards.
All participating restaurants had an opportunity to showcase their specialties, and the attendees were able to try many unique local dishes all in one place.
Additional participants included sweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt, The Ugly Pie, Playa Bowls Salisbury, Evolution Craft Brewing Company, Flannery’s Bayou and BBQ, Green Hill Country Club, The Mad Hatter Café, and Deli at Pecan Square.
Congratulations to all that took part! Everyone was a winner and were able to provide a sample of their offerings to Delmarva foodies!

DELMARVA EATS is a Facebook group created by the SACC at the onset of the pandemic in an effort to support the restaurants and hospitality industry while they were striving to operate within the COVID-19 restrictions. The group provided an opportunity for local restaurants and hospitality services to inform customers on how to access their business in the ever-changing regulations imposed throughout the pandemic.
