Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore, Inc. (BBBSES) held the 27th Annual Santa’s Open Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by Delmarva Shorebirds. The long-standing tradition of bringing the area together for this cherished event took place at the Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club on Saturday, December 7th at 9:00 am.
Every holiday season, Delmarva comes together for the opportunity to put a smile on local children’s faces through this tournament. Since 1992, Santa’s Open has been a source of joy and community support for the local children and families facing adversity. Whether it be as golfers, sponsors, or in-kind supporters, the residents of the Eastern Shore showed-up and donated generously, all in the name of defending the potential of our future generations.
Tournament participants enjoyed a variety of competitions in addition to the 4 man scramble golf tournament. Competitions included hole in one, presented by Pohanka of Salisbury, where golfers attempted to hit a hole in one to win a vehicle. Participants also competed to be closest to hole, being awarded a bottle of spirits or gift cards to local establishments. Team Wankmiller came in first place gross and team Mears came in second place gross.
A huge thank you goes out sponsors, volunteers, staff, and BBBSES golf committee, who helped make the charity golf tournament exciting and successful.
