SALISBURY, MD—The Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Eastern Region at Salisbury University announces the appointment of Greg Bartoo as business consultant serving the Mid- and Upper Shore in the Chesapeake College office.

Bartoo brings more than fifteen years of experience as a medical practice administrator to the new position, funded by the CARES Act to supplement assistance to the region.  His career includes broad business management, facilitation and consulting expertise. Bartoo is a certified medical practice executive (CMPE) and a respiratory therapist. He holds a B.S. from SUNY Stony Brook and an M.S. from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).

“We are delighted to have Greg join our team,” said John Hickman, SBDC regional director. “He successfully navigated a local optometric practice through the great recession in 2007 and will be a valuable resource to our clients. I also anticipate that his medical experience will better enable us to serve the health and medical entrepreneurs on the Shore.”

An outreach of SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, the SBDC serves the citizens of Maryland in improving the success of their small businesses through low cost training, no fee consulting and research. The Eastern Region serves the Eastern Shore of Maryland through its offices at SU, Chesapeake College and the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce.
