Scarpato named TidalHealth Peninsula Regional’s inaugural Monarch Awardee

SALISBURY — Katianne “Kat” Scarpato has been named TidalHealth Peninsula Regional’s inaugural Monarch Award recipient. This award recognizes TidalHealth phlebotomists for their dedication, compassion, commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients, and service excellence through their actions.

Scarpato is an Inpatient Phlebotomy Technician at our Salisbury hospital. She is a consistently hard worker sharing her positivity with all she encounters. From the moment she gets to work, she does not stop. She is a beam of sunshine in a job that can be constantly glooming with darkness as we hear the worst of patients’ lives within the few minutes they are seen.

Not only is Scarpato’s positivity uplifting for our team, but she is also a boost of energy for the patients. She will joke and laugh with them all while effortlessly performing her job. She always puts her patients first, and advocates for their best interests. Even with her own obstacles and hardships, she remains one of the hardest working and comforting people on our team.

Scarpato works on the phlebotomy newsletter which highlights policies, provides educational growth, and celebrates significant dates and events in her coworkers’ lives. Her positivity, exceptional customer interactions, and hardworking nature are attributes she shares with the staff and trainees she works with daily.

TidalHealth appreciates Scarpato and all of our phlebotomists who provide exceptional care to our patients throughout our health system.
