The Maryland Chamber of Commerce invites you to help shape Maryland’s business future by nominating a visionary leader for our Board of Directors — or considering a term of service for yourself.
Representing over 7,000 businesses — ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies — our board members are at the forefront of driving Maryland’s economic growth and shaping the policies that define its business landscape. Together, they:
- Influence policies affecting Maryland’s businesses and workforce
- Strengthen economic competitiveness and foster innovation
- Build vital connections across industries and regions
- Ensure that all voices are heard in shaping Maryland’s future

Board Member Criteria:
- Hold a senior executive or C-suite position within a member organization
- Reside or operate a business in Maryland
- Commit to attending four two-hour board meetings annually, a new board orientation, and a retreat in June 2025
- Serve a one- or three-year term without compensation
- Ability to vote in a quorum

After nominations are received, selected nominees will be asked to complete a more detailed questionnaire to share their vision and qualifications for service.
Our Board reflects the diversity of Maryland’s industries, regions and voices. We especially welcome nominees from emerging sectors, such as life sciences, IT and manufacturing, as well as leaders representing Southern Maryland, Mountain Maryland and the Eastern Shore.
